Fireworks Safety Guidelines
Your safety and that of your loved ones is our utmost priority. Please review and adhere to these recommended safety precautions and statutory PESO handling guidelines for a joyful, accident-free celebration.
What You SHOULD Do
- Strict Adult Supervision: Always ensure children ignite fireworks under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.
- Open Outdoor Spaces: Always light fireworks in open grounds, away from dry grass, parked vehicles, electricity lines, and thatched huts.
- Water & Sand Buckets on Standby: Keep two full buckets of clean water and dry sand nearby before beginning your celebrations.
- Use Agarbatti / Long Sparkler: Always ignite crackers using a long incense stick (agarbatti) at arm's length, and immediately step back.
- Snug Cotton Clothing: Wear fitted cotton clothes and closed footwear. Avoid loose dupattas, synthetic materials, and silk garments.
- Store in Closed Boxes: Store purchased fireworks in a cool, dry place away from kitchen stoves, electrical points, and direct sunlight.
- Submerge Used Sparklers: Immediately plunge hot spent sparkler wires and chakkar bases into a bucket of water to prevent accidental burns.
What You Must NEVER Do
- Never Light Indoors or on Balconies: Never ignite any firework inside rooms, corridors, narrow alleys, or enclosed balconies.
- Never Hold Fireworks in Hand: Never attempt to hold an ignited firework, rocket, bomb, or flower pot in your hand while bursting.
- Never Re-Ignite a Dud: If a firework fails to burst, never bend over it or examine it. Wait 15 minutes, then pour water over it.
- Never Carry Crackers in Pockets: Friction or body heat can be hazardous. Never put sparklers, matchboxes, or crackers into your pockets.
- Never Use Tin Cans or Glass Bottles: Never place firecrackers inside tin cans, glass bottles, or mud pots — sharp flying shrapnel is dangerous.
- Never Aim at People or Animals: Never point, throw, or aim crackers, rockets, or roman candles at people, pets, or street animals.
- Never Modify Fireworks: Never tamper with cracker fuses or attempt to blend chemical powders yourself.

Sparklers & Chakkars
Hold sparklers at arm's length pointed away from the body. For ground chakkars, place flat on paved ground using the center nail. Never touch immediately after burning.
Flower Pots & Fountains
Place firmly upright on flat cement or tiled ground. Light the tip with an agarbatti and step back at least 5 meters immediately. Do not hold pots in hands.
Aerial Shots & Repeaters
Always place multi-shot cakes on level ground. Support the base with bricks or sandbags to prevent tipping over. Ensure 100% clear vertical sky overhead with no tree branches.
Sound Crackers & Bombs
Light only in wide open grounds far away from hospitals, elder care homes, and pet shelters. Do not use metal containers or bottles. Keep small children at a safe distance.
First Aid Rule: Cool Water For 10-15 Minutes
Pour clean cold running water immediately over the affected skin. Do not apply ice, butter, or ink. Consult a doctor immediately.
